Sex offenders to face lie tests

Image

Sex offenders in some areas of the UK will be forced to take lie detector tests to see if they are still a danger to the public, the Ministry of Justice has said.

A pilot scheme will run from next April for three years. Under an earlier, voluntary pilot, nearly 80% of tests prompted admissions.

But fewer than half of those eligible for the tests agreed to be tested. Under the new pilot, paedophiles and other offenders will have no choice.

    • If you do the crime, you're going to do the time.. and the lie detector tests comes in somewhere..??..

What questions could they possibly ask?
      Are you dangerous?
Are children in bathing suits appealing to you?

I guess the test would have to be varied on the type of sex offender. You could become a sex offender just by having sex with your boy/girlfriend if they're underage..even if both of you want to and you're safe about it. What would they ask those people? In my eyes, they did nothing wrong yet they get penalized the same. I guess we will just have to wait to see if this will increase safety at all.

I fully agree with you on this, it's one thing to keep your self calm and lie with a straight face. It's another to keep your brain from reacting the way it naturally wants to when exposed to that kind of stimuli.
