Amazonian plant extract causes cancer cells to commit suicide and T4 Cells to thrive!

Hello to all my friends on Current. I want to tell you about something that is frankly unbelievable. However, I am living proof of the efficacy of this plant extract because I have survived for over 30 years living with HIV. When I was first introduced to this plant in 1995, it was in a dried form and was used to make a tea that I would drink on prescribed doses for several weeks. At the time I began treatment with it, I had a T4 cell count of less than 5. A normal T4 cell range is between 1000 and 1500. My infectious disease specialist here in Eugene, Oregon had told me that I was on borrowed time and that I should make preparations to die. Of course I was desperate and wanted to find a Magic Bullet that could save my life, being that the only drugs available at the time was AZT and a few other experimental drugs; all of which carried with them extreme toxicity and could actually kill the patient.

My aunt in Ecuador, had heard about this doctor of Oncology who was doing research on Cancer and HIV in Ecuador after realizing during his residency at a university in Mexico, that most of the Chemotherapy drugs that had gained FDA approval through clinical trials had their origins in natural plants. He decided to continue his work, upon returning to Ecuador by contacting the indigenous tribes in the Amazon and asking them to reveal to him which plants they commonly used for healing.

To anyone who isn't familiar with the Amazon in Ecuador, it is where the Amazon river begins its journey across the South American continent to the Atlantic Ocean. The Amazon jungle is the most biodiverse region in the world with well over 40,000 plant species. The indigenous people of the Amazon have lived there for thousands of years and their Shaman have passed down considerable knowledge of which plants were beneficial for which types of ailments.

So during this doctors research he was introduced to the plant which led to his amazing discovery. He began testing the plant on patients as early as 1989. What immediately became apparent was that only a certain part of the plant was usable and didn't have a toxicity that would hurt the patient. So he gradually came up with a way of harvesting the roots of the plant in order to create a tea and later an extract that contained the most bioactive aspects with the least toxicity. The final product that he developed and patented, worldwide, is completely natural and has absolutely no side effects because it is a carbohydrate of an extremely low molecular weight. It is derived from the plant Solanum Dulcamara. This plant grows wild in the Amazon jungle.

Dr. Edwin Cevallos Arellano from Quito, Ecuador is a doctor of Oncology and Immunology who has studied at the University of Mexico in Mexico City as well as the Military Hospital in Quito Ecuador and other places. He has traveled the world talking about the discovery and efficacy of his synthesized extract from this amazing plant. He has given speeches at Medical Congresses in Canada, Spain, Japan and other places showing the medical evidence of the miraculous recovery of patients who were on Death's Doorstep due to Cancer, Lupus and AIDS who were treated with the extract.

Studies were conducted by Universities in Miami, Florida and Birmingham, Alabama that confirmed the findings of Dr. Cevallos. Patients of his, who had traveled to see him from other parts of the world, were coming back from the brink of death and their doctors in their countries were amazed. New study shows marijuana components fight brain cancer

Marijuana components have been found to inhibit the growth of the most common, and aggressive form of brain tumor, a glioblastoma, according to a study published in the January 6 issue of Molecular Cancer Therapeutics.

The study was done at the California Pacific Medical Center by researchers who combined a non-psychoactive ingredient of marijauna, cannabidiol (CBD), with Δ9-tetrahyrdocannabinol (Δ9-THC), the primary psychoactive ingredient in Cannabis. The findings demonstrated the inhibitory effect of these two ingredients on brain cancer cells when used together.

“Previous studies had shown that Δ9-THC was effective in inhibiting brain cancer growth in cell cultures and in animal models and prompted a small clinical trial in Spain. There is also evidence that other compounds in Cannabis might prove effective against tumors, but limited scientific evidence is available,” the report stated.

“Compared to using Δ9-THC alone against glioblastoma cell lines, the combination therapy of Δ9-THC and CBD showed a significant improvement in activity, both in slowing down the growth of those cells and also, and perhaps more importantly, in doubling the number of cancer cells which underwent apoptosis or programmed cell death.”

The cannabinoid 1 (CB1) and cannabinoid 2 (CB2) receptor agonist Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) has been shown to be a broad-range inhibitor of cancer in culture and in vivo, and is currently being used in a clinical trial for the treatment of glioblastoma. It has been suggested that other plant-derived cannabinoids, which do not interact efficiently with CB1 and CB29-THC. There are conflicting reports, however, as to what extent other cannabinoids can modulate Δ9-THC activity, and most importantly, it is not clear whether other cannabinoid compounds can either potentiate or inhibit the actions of Δ9-THC. We therefore tested cannabidiol, the second most abundant plant-derived cannabinoid, in combination with Δ9-THC. In the U251 and SF126 glioblastoma cell lines, Δ9-THC and cannabidiol acted synergistically to inhibit cell proliferation. The treatment of glioblastoma cells with both compounds led to significant modulations of the cell cycle and induction of reactive oxygen species and apoptosis as well as specific modulations of extracellular signal-regulated kinase and caspase activities. These specific changes were not observed with either compound individually, indicating that the signal transduction pathways affected by the combination treatment were unique. The Past, Present, and Future of Medical Marijuana in the United States

On October 19, 2009, the Office of the Deputy US Attorney General issued a memorandum, “Investigations and Prosecutions in States Authorizing the Medical Use of Marijuana.”

The memo announced a federal policy to abstain from investigating or prosecuting “individuals whose actions are in clear and unambiguous compliance with existing state laws providing for the medical use of marijuana.”

The memo made clear, however, that it did not “legalize marijuana or provide a legal defense to a violation of federal law.” Rather, it was “intended solely as a guide to the exercise of investigative and prosecutorial discretion.”

This article seeks to place the attorney general’s action in historical, medical, and legal context.

"Healers have turned to cannabis, known in the vernacular as marijuana, for its medicinal qualities for more than 5 millennia. Indeed, the world’s oldest surviving medical text, the Chinese Shen-nung Pen-tshao Ching, recommends marijuana to reduce the pain of rheumatism and to address digestive disorders.

The herb had an established use in Western medicine, too. Between 1840 and 1900, more than 100 articles extolling its therapeutic virtues appeared in American and European medical journals.

In 1851, the United States Pharmacopoeia included the “extract of hemp,” in its catalog of medicinal amalgams. That same year, The Dispensatory of the United States of America proclaimed, “The complaints in which [marijuana] has been specially recommended are neuralgia, gout, rheumatism, tetanus, hydrophobia, epidemic cholera, convulsions, chorea, hysteria, mental depression, insanity, and uterine hemorrhage.” A little more than a decade later, the 1864 edition of the Pharmacopoeia gave precise instructions in the preparation of this medicine.

American physicians routinely prescribed marijuana until the late 1930s. It would not be until 1970 that the law would intervene to proscribe all uses of the herb....

"Imagine the cancer survivor who resides in one of the 13 states that recognizes medical use of marijuana. She can ingest the herb knowing that federal agents are unlikely to kick her door down and arrest her. She will also know that her conduct is patently illegal. Every day, to address the nausea that accompanies her chemotherapy, she will engage in illegal conduct that the attorney general has authorized.

This is the nature of the compromise that the October 19 memorandum represents. The nation’s top law enforcement official has embraced the “compassionate use” that the California electorate recognized more than a dozen years ago. Current law may be the best that the cancer patient can hope for, but the remainder of the populace should not be satisfied. Those who support medical use of marijuana should not be happy with its continuing illegality. Those opposed to it should not accept federally licensed illegal behavior.
