Medical Marijuana in Michigan

Since Michigan became enlightened and allowed the voters to say their peace we now have legal cannabis for medical patients who qualify. This has been a good thing for people who are patients and has given rise to new businesses, i.e. growing cannabis as caregivers to the sick. The problem is that since this "door" has been opened the sick are suffering at the hands of the growers. Throughout Michigan the avg. price for medical cannabis is $20 (and up) per gram. This means an ounce is over $400, which is almost a monthly house payment and most certainly a car payment.

Keep in mind that patients must pay cash, no medical insurance covers these expenses. The only answer to really help the sick is to offer them cannabis at a fair rate. I know that Compassionate Care in Detroit does offer its patients $10 per gram for their meds but they are the only ones so far.

Some politicians are nervous about the new law, but with over 14 states now upholding the same type of law(s) it is a little late to stop the movement. The day is coming when cannabis will be legalized, first for the sick, then for everyone else.
