His story compelled me to research further, as he begged me to let everyone know how easily they could become infected.

    • Bailey, I wouldn't hibernate, but take precautions. I feel like Monk, in that I carry hand sanitizer and never eat without washing my hands first. Don't rub your eyes without washing your hands either. Germs are invisible to the naked eye.

    • Oh my god. This article has simultaneously sickened and scared the living shit out of me. I'm going to go wash my hands right now... in fact I'm going to take a shower.

    • Dave, I am so sorry! The impact of MRSA seems to be understated and actually until the young man I spoke to that day mentioned I had not given it any thought.

Thanks so much for sharing your story and stopping to leave me a comment. I truly hope you are doing well and fully recovered. They young man begged me to get the word out, and that is my mission, so that others don't get struck with this disease! from http://current.com/users/HardworkinJudy.htm

    • It is heart breaking how quickly one can go from full and robust health to this life threatening disease. In speaking to those who have had I have became more aware of how imperative it is to keep one's hands clean and take a full dose of prescribed medication.

    • I had MRSA. was feeding seagulls bread on the beach one day,one missed the bread and poked my finger, no big deal little scratch. Next morning my hand was the size of a softball. 9 days in the hospital and $13,000 in bills later, I dont feed the rats with wings anymore.

    • I Have Had c-Dif. It wiped me out.It put me in great danger with pancreatitas and my organs went into malfunction. they almost put me into end stage renal failure.potassium was bottomed out with intestinal infections and dehydration. but when you are on something like lasik and you have a problem shit can go wrong fast.

    • And MRSA is often caught while in the hospital. As well as C diff. . Both are caused by misuse of or over use of antibiotics.
IF you have an infection and the doctor orders a specific antibiotic TAKE ALL OF IT AS PRESCRIBED!
If you don't you have NOT KILLED THE BUG! and when it rears it's ugly haed again(and it will) it will be RESISTANT to the proper treatment.
The C diff is caused by treatment of super infections with super antibiotics that kill the normal body flora in our GI tracts that keep the yeast and fungus in check so the patient grows a fulminating fungal/yeast infection! Yikes!
Antibiotics are needed to treat infections, but one must follow instructions and realize for EVERYTHING one puts into your body there is a side effect (good or bad).
There is also a newer super infection called VRSA.
