Researchers in Japan are reporting new evidence that the ordinary vinegar — a staple in oil-and-vinegar salad dressings, pickles, and other foods — may live up to its age-old reputation in folk medicine as a health promoter. They are reporting new evidence that vinegar can help prevent accumulation of body fat and weight gain.

    • Vinegar is also used as an old floor wax stripper. Mix an eyedropper of vinegar with some water and drinking it will dissolve cholesterol plaques off the inside of blood vessels. Cholesterol plaques in a person's entire circulatory system would likely account for right much extra body weight.

Getting rid of a lot of it would likely register on the scale as "weight loss".

Just don't get it on your teeth. I hear it dissolves the enamel.

    • ekkk, my mom used to and probably still does use vinegar for everything. She swears that it is the only thing that doesn't streak the fake-wood floors, it just smells acrid for hours.
and like CiiiMONSTR said, nothing cures a cold like hot water, vinegar and honey

That was my Herbalist grandmother's cure, too! She would, also mix up a concoction of warm water and vinager when I had nausea to make me throw up"to get the bad stuff out of my system that was causing the nausea."
