I don't get it. Why post a craft project with no directions?

i would love to see some practical applications used with some of these craft projects, like collapsible fans, or have companies recycle them into hat bibs or whatever else they use cardboard for.

That is wonderful!
And to think... I have only been using those to hold extension cords.

They're genius! But I get enough jokes about my decor.. No need to add to it by decorating with toilet rolls! They can be my guilty hidden ornaments

Very cool! Great use of something that most just toss out! I think some of the best art can be found in the unexpected!

You're right -- I had no idea. At least in this case, there's actually an article and a lot more photos :)

Why don't they just recycle them by wrapping more toilet paper on them. Instead of making them to something useless.

Art is downright useful, Elderly Milk Fella! Without art and the flow of creative energy and communication from one person to another, we'd be sitting around on the African savannas throwing rocks at each other. Of course we might have been better off, but... it would be boring.
These little faces have something important to say: one can re-purpose even the most trivial things. Onward! How to repurpose the plastic thingy inside a scotch tape roll? What do we do with used dental floss containers? Tell me the destiny of a tick-tack dispenser. If you can't think of anything... (I've been pondering it for awhile now) maybe there's another artist out there who can.

The blue one (lower left) looks like George W Bush. I'm sure that's purely a coincidence.

Amazing! I've actually been thinking about making book sculptures out of old textbooks, just folding all the pages into a cool pattern. This is a good motivation/reminder!
This is what one looks like, if y'all have no idea what I'm talking about

I will never look at a toilet paper roll the same.
it kinda of seems like these are the souls of the trees they were made from.

One of the coolest 'actual art' ideas I've seen in a long time.
I have to say actual art because of all those hacks that thing they're making art by throwing feces at a wall or something.
'Artist': "It like, expresses my soul... and the torment of my life."
Yuppy: "I'll pay 5 million dollars for the feces one."

Maybe Junior Fritz Jacquet explains his process on his website, although you'd have to understand French to decipher it...http://www.juniorleplieur.com/
Other than that, I wasn't able to shake down his technique online despite really trying :(
Don't know about a ginormous roll of TP, but you could just make your own massive core if you want....

Point well taken...I was actually referring to the fact that many trees are used to create the actual toilet paper that is flushed ;) I would hate to think what kind of bacterial overflow would happen if anyone dared to flush the cardboard tubes down. Definitely a "don't try this at home" activity.
