If this catches on it could really do wonders for the ice cream cone industry. Companies could focus more time designing innovative shapes and flavors without the worry of sustaining melting ice cream.

I don't know about this one folks. Just how well is the cone going to hold up to this kind of abuse. Plus the taste when luke warm. I don't see this going over to well in the long run.

I once had a job making the ice cream that coldstone uses.
The potato chips you refer to have an analogue-- the Sinless Sweetcream.
It's made with Crisco, Splenda, and cellulose.

Don't they make Jello out of animal hooves (gelatin)? I have a hard time eating Jello after knowing that. I don't want hooves in my ice cream either!
