The Dog Surfing World Championships was held in San Diego over the weekend. Breeds from pugs to Burmese mountain dogs competed against each other for the coveted top prize.
The event wasn't really a 'world' one as only American dogs took part, but the organisation hopes to take the contest global next year with competitors from around the world.
Michael Arms, president of the Helen Woodward Animal Centre (which organised the event) estimated that some 4000 people turned up to see the event - double the number of attendees they had last year.

Wow, I was about to say that sounds cruel, but the event also raises money and awareness for orphaned pets.
