Despite a £32 million backlog of essential repairs because of a shortage of cash, Buckingham Palace is pressing ahead with plans for a small private jet for the Queen.
The proposal for an executive aircraft, which could be used by the Prime Minister and senior ministers, was proposed in the Gershon review into Government efficiency and spending.
The Gulfstream or Learjet, which would seat up to 12 people, would cost up to £10 million. It would be paid for by the Government. It has been dubbed Heir Force One by Republican critics of the monarchy.

Y'all lay off Old Girl! At least she's letting the PM and his cronies use the jet. She could allow them to continue to imperil them on commerical airlines with terrorists like Naomi Campbell.
