New on News!
Hey everybody - I'm Andrew Fitzgerald and I'm your new online producer on News. I've actually been a part of Current for a long (long) time - I started in August of 2005 the weekend Hurricane Katrina was barreling towards New Orleans. I'm originally from down there and most of my family still lives in the area - so my first job at Current was producing our Katrina coverage. It was a crazy way to start a new job. (Here's two favorites if you haven't seen them already: Citizen Rescue and Saving Gram).
I've done a whole bunch of other stuff at Current since, but most recently I was heading up the Collective Journalism program, through which I've worked with a fair number of you. (You can check out some CJ stuff over here at our Best of CJ page).
I'm super-wildly-crazytown-excited about working on the News page and I think you're going to like what we've got coming in the next few months.
And now just for fun, here's a video I made on one of my trips down to Louisiana. I wouldn't say it's news, per se, but it's certainly tasty.
