President Obama 'personally' supports gay marriage
President Barack Obama finally completed the evolution of his thinking on gay marriage in an interview with ABC News.
Referencing gay soldiers and members of his own staff whose relationships deserve to be recognized the same as anyone's, Obama made his personal position clear:
"I have to tell you that over the course of several years as I have talked to friends and family and neighbors when I think about members of my own staff who are in incredibly committed monogamous relationships, same-sex relationships, who are raising kids together, when I think about those soldiers or airmen or marines or sailors who are out there fighting on my behalf and yet feel constrained, even now that Don't Ask Don't Tell is gone, because they are not able to commit themselves in a marriage, at a certain point I’ve just concluded that for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same sex couples should be able to get married.”

Did you all miss the part about how he believes it should be “up to the states to decide”? He has EVOLVED to the same position that Dr. Paul has held for 40 years.

Is it just me or has anybody else noticed that the Fox network which airs the most conservative extreme right news show around, also airs the most gay friendly show on television, Glee, I'm confused. Back to the topic at hand, this is a country of free will, free expression and independent thinkers. The president said there would be change. For better or worse it seems, the economy is still bad(worse), but African Americans have greater representation in the media than ever before (better). Now gay Americans have been brought into the fold of inclusiveness (better). I'm holding my breath waiting for the accomodation of Hispanic Americans (the group that time forgot) those of us that are many generations deep, born in the USA (English speaking) to be recognized in this country. There is black paint on the "white" canvas and now all the colors of the rainbow have been included. It's time we add brown to this painting. Heads up to those who claim to be liberal progressive thinkers who dream of equality for all. There were more African Americans on the big screen in the 1960's during the civil rights era, than there are Hispanics on American television today, 2012 (almost none on commercials). So while others celebrate with optimism and hope, we are still waiting to be invited to this club. All that being said, congrats!

I honestly believe the “ONLY” reason Obummer finally came down on the side of sanity on the same sex marriage issue is because after letting Biden test the waters he saw it was a SAFE position to take.
The average voter could care less who the guy down the street is screwing, especially when he has been out of work for three years and worried about his kid coming home from Afghanistan in a Body Bag.
The people who would not vote for Obummer because of his support for same sex marriage would most likely not vote for him anyway. I must say it is nice to see the slug has evolved into a SLIME BALL who is right on at least one issue.
