15 pictures of Republicans using teleprompters

By Victor Balta / current.com

You know why this post exists. If you Google "Obama teleprompter," you'll get 2.5 million results as it's been a running joke among conservatives for nearly six years. Why this became such a touchstone for conservative attacks on President Obama is completely mystifying, but with this year's general election taking shape it's a good time for progressives to arm themselves with one quick and easy way to respond to any use of the words "Obama" and "teleprompter" in the same sentence.

Despite the fact that having blatant hypocrisy pointed out rarely appeases conservatives, here are 15 pictures of Republicans using teleprompters:

Rick Santorum, who earlier this year said, "when you run for President of the United States, it should be illegal to read off a teleprompter."

    • My initial comment was made in jest. Just for the record, I don't consider the use of teleprompters by politicians as an asset, however, I find it ironic that President Obama is ridiculed by Republican politicians for using it when they use it too.
In fact, the teleprompters isn't helping them very much. The majority of them have a difficult time delivering a coherent speech.

    • Teleprompters should only be used as a way to remember your key points in the heat of the moment. Those that read them verbatim are to me just actors reading a script.

    • Sorry, as a Progressive, the word "teleprompter" or giving a damn who uses them on any side is not my first concern. The lies they read from them however, are.

    • President Obama is light-years ahead of Mitt Romney/Republicans, on every level, including mastering the teleprompters. He's a cool operator. While he is on his XYZ's they are on their ABC's!
