Kid Rock calls Obama a liar at RNC concert

Singer Kid Rock not only took a dig at President Barack Obama during his Wednesday night performance at the Republican National Convention, he made it rhyme with the GOP ticket.

"They say Obama is lyin,' that's why I'm voting for Romney and Ryan," he said after taking the stage shortly after midnight to play for a 75-minute set.

The crowd of Republicans, already riled up following vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan's speech, went wild.

But Rock ended his politicizing there.

"I'm not here to give any speeches," he said. "That part of the evening is over."

The singer's "Born Free" is the GOP campaign's anthem — he took the stage with Ryan at a Michigan fundraiser earlier in the week.

Rock did hint at a bit more partisan speak when he began playing ultra-conservative rocker Ted Nugent's "Cat Scratch Fever." The crowd again went wild in the hope that Nugent would join Rock onstage. Alas, he did not.

He concluded the show by unveiling a giant American flag.

"Do you still believe that you live in the greatest country in the world?"

The answer, judging by screams of delight, was yes.
