  hello!

First things first... Stop what you're doing, watch this video of Ricky Gervais and the (controversial) joke he was banned from telling at the Golden Globes, then leave a comment and let us know your thoughts.

With that done, sit back and reminisce misty-eyed over some of the key moments in the news and on the web this week. A BBC presenter dropped the Eric Cantona C-bomb on live TV, the FBI announced its biggest Mafia bust in history, a handy way to delete embarrassing Facebook pics by appointment emerged, Andy Coulson finally resigned, Twitter invented a fake gunman story, a ninja emerged from the shadows, and we all learnt why you should never do yoga with a cat

Scroll to the bottom of this email for the Current Quiz and your chance to win a £20 iTunes voucher. And, as ever, get in touch and let us know your thoughts.

Natalie Portman's dorky laugh at Golen Globes

If getting pregnant didn't crush our crush on Miss Portman then this honkathon of a laugh certainly will. Have a look and see what effect it has on you!

Too much helium perhaps?

In Norway nothing much happens so you have to make your own fun. Like inhaling way too much helium in a public space.

Real or Fake: watch 3D movies without glasses?

Right, so these guys claim to have come up with the ingenious idea of a bluetooth device that makes your eyelids blink super fast which in theory means you never have to wear those ugly 3D goggles ever again. Real or fake - who cares, it's hilarious to watch!

  show of the week

In the first episode of our spanking new series The Extreme Tourist: Afghanistan presenter Sabour Bradley (he is the pasty white dude in the photo) heads to Kabul to throw a BBQ in Osama's backyard, audition for Afghan Idol, take on the country's top kite fighter, go three rounds with a female boxer and to get a blessing from the last Jew in town.

The Extreme Tourist: Afghanistan is a six-episode travel series that opens the door on the new Afghanistan; it takes you beyond the myth, beyond the bloodshed, beyond the Taliban, beyond the burka and beyond the 'extreme'. A must see show for anyone who likes getting off the beaten track!

The Extreme Tourist: Afghanistan Episode 1 airs on Tuesday 25 January at 10pm.
