Not quit that modern, but yes they had inns, pubs, stables, anything most 13th century towns in Europe had. The IGNORANT SAVAGE reputation was invevted by the British to justify invading Scotland, because like all invasions, Briton pillaged Scotland. The story of Wallace that Bravehaert told was on the mark on most things. His wife was supposedly killed by the English solders. He did single handily take on the Sheriff in his Mot and Baily castle, kill him, and burn the wooden castle to the ground. This fired up his Kinsman. But his Kinsman weren't savages, they were lords, nobles, and the lower classes. He was killed in a more horible way than was depicted on Braveheart however.

High tech for the thirteenth century. They lived in communities. Not huts. They had enormous Chapels, and in the courtyards people had little houses. Wallace was from wealthy ancestors, he was educated. The people imported all kinds of goods. The English tried to destroy them , but they had a thriving modern society for the times.

They had ornate chamber pots, that were dumped in a large sewer in which the drain was large enough to stand in, it was made of fitted stones with awesome masonry after reciently being pumped out, works as it did in 1290. In this drain were archeological evidence that the Scottish traded with all of Europe, and even the middle east.
