As forensic science advances, so do the techniques used to solve crimes. In the past, DNA testing wasn't available, and many people were convicted of crimes they did not commit. Since the ability to now test DNA has come to light, it is not only helping to solve crimes, but also to clear the names of the falsely-convicted.
