Ugh. I can't stand missionaries, either.
Either they believe the people are going to hell because they haven't been taught about God yet (which is incredibly cruel) or the people will go to heaven anyways, in which case, what's the point?
We are taught to respect and glorify these people that are invading private lives and attempting to press their beliefs on others, but there is nothing respectable about it. If they want to help people and improve lives, more power to them, but the goal should not be conversion.
-10 points to the pod maker.

Thank god for dimwitted idiots stupid enough to die for a two thousand year old book that got more revisions than Microsoft's done security patches and in which there isn't a single word wrote directly by the main protagonist.

First of all, I have to say I don't agree with missionaries in general. They seem to prey on the poor and under-educated - doesn't seem very ehtical to me. Just as the Chinese govt trying to prevent people from having open religous belief is unethical.
But, as a foreigner who lives and works in China, I also have to wonder about the filmmaker's motives. She doesn't ask any challenging questions at all. She doesn't interview the villagers to see what their thoughts are. There is no talk about what kinds of beliefs the villagers themselves might have or how they feel about foreigners coming and telling them what to believe.
One final suggestion...a follow-up on how many of the "contacts" on the head missionary's computer have come into trouble because of him??

I can't tell you how proud this pod makes me. Let me first thank the brave men and women who travelled to the indigent regions of China to hand out pamphlets, Bibles, and other sacred memorabilia. These people don't need food, supplies, and improved living conditions...they need the King James version of the Bible and the valuable lessons learned therein.
As long as the teachings of Jesus Christ continue to flourish across the world and the heathens are converted, the planet will be a safer and ultimately happier place. - 4 years ago

I like this pod because I am fascinated by missionaries. Look at the expansion of missionary work into the far east and South America in response to increased secularism in Europe; I think this is a cause and effect situation.
