Jaloby, Limo & SarahAna I agree with you all. It strikes me as slightly odd that we should be bound by the piece of land on which we happened to be born.

Check out the video I have posted made by the charity WORLDwrite. It is gut wrenching and really hits home why immigration laws are so wrong and so unfair.

That people migrate in search of a better life and refuse to accept their bad luck to me is the most positive and natural thing in the world.

I am the child of an immigrant and I dread to think, with such disgusting immigration controls, what sort of a life I might have had if my parents had not fought long and hard to move to another country with better prospects. EVERYONE has a right to a decent life. To deny it is to deny people their humanity.

This pod didn't say anything about how much illegal immigrants give to the economy. It was completely one-sided. No wonder there are so many anti-immigration videos on this site!

Personally, I have seen the illegal immigrants work mowing lawns, while the American citizens sit on top of their high driving lawn mowers and watch everything. It looks like the over-seers in slave time, just making sure everyone of those darkies is in line.

Next time make a pod that shows both sides!

i think it a shame how we do treat illegal aliens in this country, imagine GOD forbid u where born in a third world country n after all efforts to better up ur situation , u finally arrive n you are insted deported to go back and start afresh,its ridiculous.Every body hope 4 good life,n for those who are fortunate,good and fine ,for the unfortunate ones,keep trying may be in the next world things will be the reverse.

I am Puerto Rican, so I was born with a ssn and blue passport. I shutter to think if I was born elsewhere, as I know I would face a lack of compassion such as the post above mine. Last year, the state of Arizona passed a law banning employers from hiring MIGRANT WORKERS. That action has seen 13 percent of their census leave the state. That equals 6 percent of the state tax that has been lost. 10 percent of the work force has also been lost. And for some reason, the state of Arizona can't get that number back. It just seems that gringos don't want the same jobs that the migrants had. Arizona state senator are now working bi-laterally to bring back that work force. So a BRAVO to Arizona, for a form of Immigration Reform. Hopefully the US will follow.

To cross the Southern border of Mexico is one of the most dangerous crossing's in the world for Migrants from Guatemala and Honduras. Most lose limbs, loved ones, and lives. If they are not in the US killing, raping, or pillaging, why demonize them? Just show's a lack of compassion. No matter how many Minute Men, National Guard of Border patrol you have manning the border, you will never stop a hungry person trying to find food, and a better life for their family. I wouldn't expect a person of privilage to understand this, and it's a shame they never will. Legal or illegal, they are people, let's treat them as such.

LEGAL immigration is just that - LEGAL. Illegal entry into the United States is against the law and should be prohibited. --------------------------------------------------------------------- The retroactive repeal of birthright citizenship for the sons and daughters of those who got here illegally is NECESSARY to re-route immigration into a system that follows the laws. ----------------------------------------------------------------- There should be NO rewards for those who break immigration laws! ------------------------------------------------------------
The "importation" of low cost, exploitable labor to take middle class jobs is no different than SLAVERY - paying the illegals lower wages than U.S. citizens can afford to work for is feeding fascist corporatism that cares only that the bottom line is pumped up by hiring workers who sneak over our borders to work for wages that are higher than those in their home counties but nowhere near what American workers deserve. ----------------------------------------------- MOST of the illegals I've seen who even file tax returns claim married and a gazillion dependents to lower the withholding taxes they should pay. -------------------------------------- Their actual family structure is usually a girlfriend and one to three kids AND the kids and girlfriends claim they have been deserted by their 'husbands' so they have little or no income and will qualify to use County health services for the indigent. -------------------------------------------- It is a racket and they are all willing to play the game to cheat the system. ---------------------------------------------------- I have ONE question. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Why didn't you immigrate to the U.S. LEGALLY? We wouldn't be having this issue if you had not initially broken the law.

The two political parties are WORTHLESS on this issue. --------------------------------------------------------- The Dems want the birthright citizens because they are more likely to vote for a Democrat. The Republican fascists want them for the third world wages they can pay them while they lay off American workers. Corporatists are also paying slave wages to employees because, among other things, they think those workers are less sophisticated and thus will fear looking out for their own health and welfare in the workplace - a plus for OSHA violators and other exploiters. ------------------------------------------------------------- That CR@P about no Americans wanting to do the jobs illegals will take NOT because the Americans don't want them but rather is because the minimum wage has continued to be depressed by a ready availability cheap, exploitable workers. AND the Republicans also pushed and passed "Tort Reform" to make SURE these Mexicans find it hard to sue over injuries and working conditions.

Politics is a racket and the immigration issue is fixable only with a fence, stiff penalties for crossing without permission and the IMMEDIATE RETROACTIVE REPEAL of the birthright citizenship for children of those here illegally - PERIOD! I don't care HOW long the "birthrighters" have been here or how long they've been recognized. They are what I call "pseudo-citizens" who unjustly benefited from the illegal acts of their parents. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So to all you illegal immigrants who think that hard work trumps the law, I say the constitution provides a path for LEGAL immigration. You AND any birthright citizen children you have given birth to here are not entitled to be here PERIOD!
