    • i'm not particularly vegan, but i believe it's a wonderful lifestyle and once i graduate from college and away from the folks, that's probably the nutrition value i would go for.

    • i recently chose to go vegan and I definitely got an ear full about how I was going to make myself sick, and la dee da.

I think the nation needs to be more exposed to how brainwashed they have been in the dairy industry and whatnot. No one believes me when i tell them.

    • All I have wanted my entire life was to be a mother. Three years ago I finally had the opportunity to have a beautiful baby girl, however, within a week of bringing her home dealing with my mother has not been easy. She is a blessing and I fell in love with her the moment I laid eyes on her. Living at home has not been easy although it has had some benefits.
Lately we are getting into an age that is about teaching my toddler limits. This is not an easy task at all because my daughter is a free spirited girl. Everything that I want to do with my daughter my mother seems to have her opinion about. Not only does my mom voice her opinion but she immediately enforces it without consulting me, the parent. I would think that anything impacting my daughter's life should first be discussed calmly with me before reaching any decisions. Also my mom needs to learn to let go and let me make my own mistakes. I would say my mother is exhibiting extreme covetousness of my daughter. When I am home she needs to let go. And also she should respect how I choose to raise my daughter even while I am gone. Obviously we have different techniques in raising a child.
After all my mom raised 4 kids and none of them are perfect. Therefore we are all entitled to make our own mistakes as parents. I can't go walking around on broken glass all the time trying to chase a toddler around. It is exhausting just raising a kid without having to deal with the Gestapo Grandmother's neurotic philosophy. Not only that but I work hard, i attend cosmetology school, and I spend a lot of time with Maya in the evenings and on weekends. Unfortunately Maya does not listen to me very well because she constantly hears my mom bossing me around. How can i ever discipline a child who has no respect for me? She hears my mother criticizing me all the time.

    • I was raised on a basic American diet.......and about 4 months became vegetarian and for the past month became vegan...........I have never felt better in my life and I applaud any knowledgeable parents who know know how to make vegan ism a success for them and their children in a healthy way.........I have read the stories above about the parents going to prison for malnutrition and neglect on a vegan diet..........of course these would be on mainstream networks like FOX and CNN.........a child could become just as unhealthy and may even be subject to death on the standard Americanized diet if not done with caution care and proper knowledge of what is going into the body........everyone is different you have to do what works for you and your children

    • I really wish I could have the chance to befriend another vegan mommy. I have been vegan for a long time but I don't know anyone else other then my baby and my hubby and they are also vegan. This pod has to be my favorite, hands down. It's comforting to know that there are other families who have made a comminiment to raise there children in a compassionate way, like I am trying to do with my baby. Hopefully one day he will be able to befriend other vegan children sence there are more famlies who realize that humans have been brainwashed.

    • just because someone is a doctor does not mean they know everything... all adults are lactose intolerant.. we were not meant to drink milk throughout our entire lives, meat is not necessary for a pregnant woman, you can get all of the same nutrients from plant derived sources, MEAT and DAIRY items are NOT vital to human life, why do you think heart disease and colon cancer are so rampant in our society?? the average person has 8 to 12 lbs of rotting meat sitting in their colon. in fact many people claim Vegans cannot get vitamin B-12 from plant sources but the reality is you can find this vitamin in barley, spinach, and soybeans. I have not been sick in almost two years, I attribute this to my diet, before i turned Vegan i was constantly very sick. GO VEGAN!! for YOUR HEALTH as well as the animals!

    • This is great....people need to be educated and have their eyes opened to a vegan lifestyle....

If we all became vegan and stopped eating dead animals, we could save our lives, and at the same time, save the planet....

    • I'm not knocking it but humans are biologically omnivores. We benefit both from eating meats and fruits and veggies. That is nature and genetic. I do agree about the ratio from fruits and veggies to meats needs to change to something like 80/20 but to cut all animals products out is too drastic.

What did you do when you were pregnant. Both my vegan friends were informed by their doctors to start eating meat again at least while they were pregnant.

    • thank you...

i remember seeing this when it first aired and it was so influential in the decision for myself, my husband and our two boys to become vegan...

it's been a hard, bumpy and at times crazy year and a half adventure that we will be on for the rest of our lives!!

my boys love being vegan and actually like foods that are good for them that they would have otherwise made a face at

for the person who is thinking about going vegan... baby steps are key and don't give up, you'll thank yourself for it later :)

    • This is fantastic... most people grow up with a strong impression of milk and meat conveyed to them by profitable industries. they fail to do any research, and eat foods that are really don''t do them good, thinking that they need these foods to be healthy.

my girlfriend loves meat, but even she is starting to realize how much worse she feels after a steak than compared to the satisfaction of a great fruit smoothie, and some vegetable empanadas...

    • Great pod. I've been Vegan for about 8 months, and I'll never look back. This video had quite a bit of irony for me. I'm Vegan by personal choice, while my parents are flesh eaters and reluctant to even watch a short video about Veganism. It'll catch on tho. There is an unusually high number of Vegetarians at my school, although I'm the only Vegan of everyone I know. Two of the recent Vegetarians were people who argued and laughed when I talked about Veganism. Obviously, they eventually came to their senses.

Anyway, great job. Kucinich for president! (He's Vegan)
