      i had no idea this was from 9 years before i was born. bread, milk, & butter; one of the many things that i will remember from sesame street.

    • This, plus NEAR-FAR, plus Abierto/Cerrado, and so many other CTW cartoons & sketches have been firmly stuck in my brain since pre-school.

      Don't know about you, but The Count used to scare the bejeezus out of me. All those bats and the lightning and the laugh gave me nightmares.

    • This is one of the best cartoons Sesame Street ever did. I loved it when I was a kid, and it was so ingrained in my head I was able to quote along with the cartoon later as an adult while watching Sesame Street with my kids. The animation was simple, but had enough detail and movement to keep you watching. The little girl saying "a loaf of bread, a carton of milk and a stick of butter" over and over was great. Hope all of you who missed out of the golden years of Sesame Street-the 70s-get to see this.

    • I may be crazy, but I think there was a version of this that gave me nightmares. She passed by all sorts of weird neon buildings and had a conversation with a strange pimp like character who tried to make her forget her list.
