Of course it is fresh. All cultures have been eating this way since the beginning. Except in the USA where we have the environmental, vegan and other liberal wackos protesting about what others eat. However, they would not last too long in ChiCom where their reward would be a long prison sentence or the recipient of a two-cent bullet.

laura challenged me to an eat-off. if i'd been there, i would have made laura have a little taste test. since many of my trips have involved eating weird things, we're always on the lookout for ways to outdo the last trip. part of one of our internal vanguard challenges.

Avoid Korea. They have a style of carnival cuisine there where they serve deliberately disgusting food young men are supposed to eat to impress the girls. Things like embryonic ducks and such.
