Extreme Trespassers

Pumpactionsunshine
An off-kilter look into the practice of infiltrating abandoned places, buildings and spaces. A world of dodging security, alarms and rotten floors. These guerilla historians risk asbestos, junkies and injury to learn more about our forgotten past.

    • I can understand why people like to do this, as I use to visit a couple of abandoned factories not far from my college some years ago, recently visited an abandoned factory. Curiosity is part of human nature, although there is something spiritual about visiting an abandoned building, not sure what it is.

    • There are no trespass laws in Scotland, I myself can confirm this as I have lived here for 44 years. The subject has not got a Scottish accent but a northern England accent, specifically a Lancashire accent. Ecky Thump.

    • Sounds Scottish, especially given his discussion of the legalities of it. Trespassing and B&E laws are different in different parts of the world. Don't get the wrong impression. This could very well be illegal where you are.

Paddy wagons are not comfortable places.

    • v.interesting - i used to do this when i was a kid growing up in brighton.

one time we found an electric chair in a derelict factory! part of the fun was dodging the cops.

i've not done it in years but watching this pod stirred up some old memories - it's all about exploring the unknown and discovering secrets of past events and lives.

    • if anyone is planning to venture to the the New York City area,
there is an abandoned Mental Institution on Long Island called Kings Park Psychiatric Center. It is probably a 2 hour plus drive from Manhattan but well worth the experience.
