Cock Fight

Duzer
Cockfights on a Sunday afternoon are as common in the D.R. as football in the U.S. These little killers are trained all their lives to do one thing, fight! Betting on the fights is a big deal, kind of like the Vegas of Poultry. Not something for animal lovers, but quite an insight into the culture, and the fanaticism of macho men.

    • Soy dominicano y que tengo orgullo. (I am Dominican and proud of it). This is our tradition and culture...and has alot to do with our history..the island Haiti and the D.R. (sometimes vs.)...and I dont care what people think about it. We dont bet on and race horses till they die..then kill them (like the USA does) and sell them to the French to eat. We dont run bulls and slay them in the streets like with spears savagely like Spain or Italy. Also we dont torture and stir fry and eat dogs as in Asia or the States. Or mutilate and mistreat cows (or Bullriding where they put spikes on a Bulls balls..ride em cowboy huh) like they do in beef farms like in the USA like in Texas. In fact they are just chickens (not dolphins which the US military uses for training with explosives) and on top of that when they die they are eaten so nothing goes to waste. Peta and that racist woman Newkirk ( I remember the comparison of animals to slaves in the slavery advertisement and even a holocaust advertisement) Newkirk..needs to stop worrying about non-Western countries and stick her and Peta nose out of our business. They are chickens not dogs, dolphins , horses or any other more intelligent animal and they generate money for poor people (Dominicans, Haitians) and they are still used as food....people kill me with this BS. Besides its not your country.
      Viva La Republica Dominicana.

Some are so worried about the chickens but will never pursue a real cause like the Haitians dying on the other of side of the island from the huricanes (Gustav) that need help..or poor Dominicans in the North....To the guys who made the pod...good job O thought you made a good window into Dominican culture. Glad you enjoyed yourself in mi patria

I see Micheal Vick somehow entered someones mind yet not Bull riding or fighting...I wonder why...I guess race had nothing to do with it....what connection could cock fighting and dog fighting have..
