    • I just saw the pod for the first time and this is what went through my mind:

      1. The vacuity of the pod: was this news or just some dudes, 'the fantastic three,' showing us the adventure they had?

      2. The distortion: the pod was introduced as shedding light on Hezbollah's methods. How can one event be representative of the whole party's methods? Their encounter with the Hezbollah could have been a lot better ... or worse.

    • My opinions on the reporters integrity or the validity of the article isn't important.
What is important is that what the reporters went through is EXACTLY what would happen if three uncredited reporters with no papers and just a camera walked through a war zone and were intercepted by American forces!
There is a clear cut painting of who is the hero and who is the villain in the Israeli/Lebanon conflict in all major news outlets, whether it's overt or subversive, and this report was no exception.

You paint these people as villains when they did exactly what American forces would've done.

      Think about it.

    • after read thru the comments before my last on i think its interesting that this piece is so contentious. it seems like everyone is a little too focused on the authenticity of their footage, whereas i think the real issue is the appropriateness of their entire trip.

i definitely understand the importance of spreading the word about what's going on in war zones, but i do not fully accept the idea that its a necessity to have first hand experiences in redzones just to have empathy for the people that live there everyday. helping the global community comprehend the true insanity of war is a lofty task, but if anything it seems as though people get turned off & desensitized to violence because it is so ubiquitous in our modern world...if you don't understand that war is always completely inexcusable i don't really think that any piece of video will have a strong enough impact to wake you up.

it did seem that there was a 'throwing rocks @ the hornet's nest' quality to this pod, but fortunately the hezbollah guys were more reasonable than the u.s. government has been for the past 7 years.

    • if the tables were turned & these guys were lebanese citizens caught in a u.s. war zone they'd be getting tortured as enemy combatants & wouldn't have been heard from for years.

    • Check out this thread:

Israel denies involvement in Hezbollah leader's death:

Officials in Israel say they are not responsible for the bombing that killed Imad Mughniyeh, a senior Hezbollah leader involved in terrorist attacks against Israel and the West for three decades. VOA's Jim Teeple reports from Jerusalem, Israeli officials say Mughniyeh was responsible for some of the worst attacks ever carried out against Israel and Jews around the world.

    • FAKE! Three Gay-Americans in the hands of the Hezbollah? They would have been held for ransom, sold, or killed in a propaganda video. No journalistic value anyway.

    • This is scary and good. I''m glad people like Blakbox go places that I would never go and share their story. I would definitely like to see more pods in the Blakbox genre.

    • Now...why do you think hezbollah was acting the way they were when they captured you. Here is an example. The United States gets attacked by Saudi Arabia (will never happen) and your a soldier for the US army and ur patrolling the streets of downtown chicago when u see 3 people with traditional arabian head dress, with scooters and a camera just shooting the place with the camera. what do you think the soldier will think. think about it

and bring us back a whole bunch of shaky camera footage.
