Little Charged Cars

twodee
With gas prices going up, the NEV (Neighborhood Electric Vehicle), which plugs into a regular outlet and is rated at 245 mpg, is a practical solution.

    • Electric, at the moment, is such a false economy, because to recharge, you plug into the mains, so no stink and no emmisions - just happens else where. also so much power is lost as the power makes it down the line , through sub stations etc.
i wish people would stop going on about electric cars, uintil the fuel companies release proper batteries and we transfer , globally, to alternatives such as wind, thermal, tidal etc, electric cars are a false economy...

    • It is already well known that the corn biodiesel is an environmental disaster. using way too many chemicals, gas and oil needed to cultivate, trees and wet lands being destroyed. hmmmm, the govt. doesn't seem to care. The electric car is good, especially if the electricity is being drawn from solar panels. Wow, why not run a thin strip of panels on top of the car so it is self charging. I think maybe this is being done or in the process. It blows my mind that hemp is the biodiesel of choice. It takes very little water, no chemical fertilizers, hell, the constitution was written on hemp and the earliest sails were from hemp. The seeds of the hemp plant contain valuable omega threes and lots of protein for this planet. The paper made from hemp saves the trees. Oh well, the corporations rule. I love the idea of an electric car if we don't use nuclear energy. Oh and by the way, hemp is not pot, just a cousin, it don't get you high. So what's the problem, Ford, Toyota, etc. one love, Hoy

    • It is great that these cars are out there, they will just get better and better! But ya, the electric bill would definitely be an issue, but I wonder how that stacks up against gas prices.

    • sounds great, but when these cars plug in, where do they pull energy from. Most of our electric power is generated from filthy coal. Also, what about the battery disposal? If everyone got one it may become an issue.
still a step in the right direction... just a few kinks.
      I wish I had one!

    • Please comment on how these cars use no oil and create no emissions. How is this possible? You say all you have to do is plug it in. Does it come with a solar charging station powerful enough to recharge the vehicle for reuse? If I am correct I thought most of our electricity is created from burning fuel. I don’t see this as a green alternative at this time. I think hydrogen is the way to go until electricity becomes a cleaner energy source. Hydrogen can be created from waist water and will only emit water. No fuel burning trucks delivering fuel to energy plants, only water lines. Just because you don’t see the fuel being burnt that does not make it green.
