Thai Transgender Power

Jski
Crystal, a Thai transvestite in Bangkok, led a quiet, normal life working as the Thailand brand manager for a well-known French cosmetics company--until one day she is denied entry into a nightclub based on her sexual identity. Rather than accepting the discrimination, the episode springs her into action, and has much larger consequences than anyone could have imagined.

    • How is it that Thailand have equal protection for gay and transgender people in their Constitution and states in the USA have Constitution amendments banning gay marriage?

    • Humans are humans and aslong as they arent hurting anyone then they should have as much right as anyother. I'm glad that thailand has changed their constitution in favour for equal rights. Its 2008 after all. haha . Moving on into an age where people will be able to switch genders over night. Technology is rapidly advancing as always.

    • I love ladyboys...so cute....keep on fighting , people and don't give up...bangkok...whatta name for the city... so active, functional and throbbing...thick ,man...think about it...I am working on this novel that partly circles my own ts experience througout years... here in LA might be like no other place in the u.s. where transsexulas are maintained as a leftover of the society and honestly, it is getting even worse day by day...the city gets load of shemales from mexico especially, but there is the entire culture of young people growing up, born and raise here in LA, people that eventually end up as transsexual ( some of them at the very early stage), with the society leaving them without proper tool for their own cultural adjustment..it is great that one can redefine itself and be comfortable in what it is but at the same time so sad that most of the full time transsexuals are left to go hooking in the west Hollywood...no one can relate to an emotional sadness of this city, no one..ask Bukowski...

    • Kathoey is the Thai term that refers to a transgender person like Crystal. "They are sometimes referred to as ladyboys, or as sao (or phuying) praphet song ("a second kind of woman"), or phet thee sam (third sex). The word kathoey is thought to be of Khmer origin."
