This was a sad pod. This girl has replaced one set of delusions with another. I'm glad that she isn't physically hurting herself anymore, but I hope someday that she can believe in herself without the crutch of religous fervor. I know that I'm supposed to be so glad that religion saved her, but I don't buy it. Religion is just her new delusion.

Religion seemed to have helped her, but I think going through an experience like that, where you could've died, and some therapy would have yielded similar results. On the bible-bashing thing that was mentioned in the video, I find unfortunate. We're fine with you believing in a certain religion, but don't push it on us. We know you want to share what a wonderful thing you think it is, but we just believe in something else. And you're probably not going to change that, so don't try to convert. Coexist.

A completely fascinating character, and a great pod! I wonder where the filmmakers came across Emma...

Her story makes you wonder how fragile our characters are: if God gave her happiness, better manners and serenity, when without 'him' she was a thug, then is she reponsible for her own behaviour? Are any of us, if we believe in a god who incites us to behave a certain way? He giveth and he taketh away, as they say...
