Regardless of who would assassinate our President, I would be sad. Doesn't matter if I like him or not. He's not a Hitler or a Kim Jong Ill.
I think personally its time for our nation to come together and be ONE. No more dividing ourselves over so many things, lets step up and become unified even through disagreements...

Interesting question!!!
At first I thought about it, and thought "I wouldn't protest or clap". I would never clap at the assassination of an elected leader, regardless of whether or not I believe in his/her politics. I love our constitution, and believe in following its guidelines for transition (And sharing) of power. What would make me clap, is if some point Bush is held accountable (Within constitutional guidelines) for his unconstitutional actions against our country. I think as a nation we need some healing, and seeing that even the president is *NOT* above the law is extremely important IMO to getting us back on track, and people believing in our democracy.
OK - Now for the more interesting part of your question. I assume its intent was more, what if I, as a citizen felt that our own government was behind assassinating our president (Regardless of whether or not I agreed with his/her politics). Well, in that case, I guess I would protest. I think, if our elected president was assassinated, and there was good reason to believe that factions within our own government were behind it, it is our duty to protest/speak up as a people. Regardless of their politics/etc and if we agree/disagree with them. If this was to happen, our country/democracy would be under siege from inside, and we the people would need to act to try and restore/protect our democracy.

CPANE: I'm wondering what you'd think of our President getting assassinated? Would you take to the streets in protest or clap along with the one's who murdered him?
I think this topic can certainly raise questions on what our own views are on our own society? The media has already killed GW in many ways plotting his removal from office bent on destroying what GW has tried to accomplish (and accomplish I mean ? does anyone believe its not about getting our nation oil?).
This whole ideal of killing someone because we don't like them and have the power to shut them up for good almost seems barbaric these days. Its like we as humans are too "civil" and "mature" to kill people? Have we come farther this past century or gotten worse as a civilization in those regards?
Just some of my immediate thoughts ... what do you think?

I'm not sure she qualifies as US injected . I do agree with (tori) that We (US) are very guilty of doing just that (injecting leaders in countries that will aid our financial interests), but in this case she was the elected leader twice, and was on her way back to run again. If she had just been given the chance to run, the people of Pakistan could have made their choice.
This violence is so disgusting. As frustrated with my country as I get (And I am right now, counting the days until Bush is out of office - Can't believe he lasted this long w/out some kind of legal actions against him for is blatant assault of checks/balances in the Constitution), I do sometimes take for granted the usually peaceful way in which we remove leaders from power.

I don't agree with the assassination in any way. But she was just another USA middle eastern pawn of westernization and a corporate tool geared towards the well being of western investors.
Id rather see the world develop without the injection of even more profit hungry leaders in the pockets of big business. Maybe thats just me, but fuck, who am i?
