Well done. It was beautifully shot and really covers a lot of ground in a short amount of time. Stylistically, I'm not a fan of the chapter headings, nor the sudden shift to first person at the end, but these aspects do not detract too much from the overall piece. The one issue with the pod is that there is no answer. There is nothing that can be done to alleviate the drought except, as you say, to pray. Hopefully those prayers will be answered before too long. Good work.

Great pod. Very personal. I just wonder what lesson God needs to teach one of the most religious regions of one of the most religious nations in the world. Maybe he doesn't like milk.

This is a good concept and an entertaining pod, but something about it bothered me. Now, I'm hardly religious myself, but I found it kind of offensive how a clear non-believer is going into these people's lives prodding for an association between the drought and god. Aside for the single 'pray for rain' sign, religion doesn't seem to play a part in these people's thinking at all, until you start asking questions about the devil and gods punishment or whatever. If you want to make a doc about religion and its effects on perception of reality, you have to present it upfront and examine all the angles or it will come off as ignorant and underhanded.

Good pod -- I love to see someone take on the issues of rural America, we don't get to see it often. The characters really helped move the piece along. I would've liked to see maybe something to put it in an overall context: Is this happening everywhere or just Alabama? Why? But overall, excellent!
