Sierra Leone Reborn

hollett
The Sierra Leone elections took place on August 11, 2007. Many people felt the polls would be a test of whether the country is on the road to fill recovery from the bloody decade long civil war, which ended in 2002.

    • It was very refreshing to see so many young people taking part in the electoral process in Sierra Leonne. It is really important to compare the enthusiasms of the youth there, to our young people in the US, as we prepare to decide who will lead our country in this election. I would like to see more demographical statistics of the voters

    • I really enjoyed this! I thought you did a good job of showing some of the problems in Sierra Leone without being too heavy-handed about it.

    • Great pod!

It has a great pace to it, along with some really nice visuals and music.

The actual flow of information was done well-- I like that a brief overview of the election process was given, along with the results from each election.

It streamed really nicely together; and interspersing the information with interviews from various individuals provided for neat individual input from those who experienced the event and were involved with it.

    • Great piece, Jennifer. It was humbling and inspiring to see so many people so engaged in democracy. Interesting and fun to compare to yesterday and the turnout for Super Tuesday voting. Americans should dance in the streets for their candidates more often - it's much more festive!
