    • While this pod may be almost a year old, it barely scratches the surface of the offshore "masturcam" industry today. With the global ecomonic meltdown in full swing, it will most certainly grow proportionately.

The "English challenged" typically use "LOL" as a response, when the "model" does not understand what is sent. The almost 70,000 "models" on one asian site, recieve 25% of the take, in their case, about 11 pesos per minute at todays exchange rate (47php/$1).

The hours can indeed be brutally long and boring, and some "studio" owners, who also recieve 25%, impose "quotas" of minimum number of minutes per pay period, which is twice a month .. approximately 15 days. In my view, this is the most aggregious abuse of these young ladies, many of whom are single moms, as they are further "victimized" by their own people, due to their "lack of talent", as it were.

Jamies plight is certainly sad, but all too common. While I can only speak for the asian side of the industry, a dollar per day would certainly not sustain neither the model or the studio. I hope Jamie is doing better than that now.

As to the other 50%? It goes to that place, where once it goes there .. it stays there.

    • I don't believe this pod. $1 a day for so many hours of work? That makes no sense. Porn is HUGE! If she hates it, she could make way more money working at McDonald's! But I love the way it's put together.

    • I love how there are no words. It makes the presentation that much more intense, and it presents the saddening situation that women like Jamie live their lives through the computer. And I can see why the LOL's are put in, but I do also think they seem kind of awkward. Overall though, I really love this pod!

    • Totally disagree battybabe. I love the fact that we never hear her voice, and the LOL's are so eerie. Adds to the tension of the piece and creativity. One of my favorite pods!!!

    • I don't like how it says "lol" after everything.

Because the things she said weren't funny.

It was a good story, but it would have been better if maybe there was a recording of her voice, or if somebody read the words.

    • Hi Amanda,

Thanks for your feedback on the pod. It's hardly a 'current' pod at this point - as it was produced nearly three years ago, but to respond to your comment - keeping the spot without VO is by design and entirely intentional.

The pod is about showing the tiny, horrible and practically lifeless and voiceless existence this woman endured - and her main mode of communication to the outside world was through short text snippets like what you see in the spot.

Once again, I appreciate your feedback. Thanks. --David

    • Hm. Interesting. But I wouldn't call this "first person" like the description because we don't hear from Jamie at all. That's the main problem with this pod. You start watching it thinking the graphics and text are an introduction, but then we never hear from Jamie. Not hearing from her in some capacity really diminishes the strength of the segment. I know she's in Romania, so an interview was probably impossible, but she has a webcam. Couldn't she have answered a few questions via web-came? Or even just putting some audio snippets of her over shots of her webcam? It's a nice idea to highlight her plight, but I lost interest quickly when I realized I wouldn't be hearing from her directly.
