Notice the part when they separate the starch from the fiber.
We don't need fiber in our sugar?
Oh yeah, it doesn't go straight to your cellulite colonies if it has fiber in it. Silly me.

Very well done and damned spooky, too.
I'm looking forward to the "Independent Lens" full version. I also enjoyed these guy's follow-up piece on Current tv. It makes me wonder far less why the US Government offers very little by way of alternative crops. Boned again. - 4 years ago

Yes...corn is in almost all processed food. So now give a little thought to how ethanol production reduces the corn available to eat so we can continue to use the internal combustition engines...We're using our food for fuel! Logically like buring down your shelter to stay warm!...All in the midst of world wide food shortages and record pollution. Truly we may be "fueling the fire", but with the wrong fuel. Corn is cool to eat, but minimally energy efficient ethanol production in the name of reducing dependence on oil is wreaking havoc (already is) on food prices world wide.

Definitely a topic of interest to nation now. Just saw something about the amount of corn in your hair on GMA this past week. Looks like a fun yet informative piece I'll be watching April 15th

that's interesting. and a little shocking that it's basically in everything we eat. i had no idea the food industry was so reliant on corn. when i think of french fries, corn isn't the first thing that comes to mind.

This is incredibly interesting, something I had no idea about before. You always hear about mentions of corn used in various products, but you rarely think about the extent of its presence or the prevalence of its use.

You guys are right on about this film. I'm hoping to get a little more of the political prescription in the full-length version. Others that are interested in this, with a highly-political critique should read "Omnivore's Dilemma" by Michael Pollan.
