    • Nice job getting this on air. It's cute and informative. Timely too. The only thing I'd say is, try to get steadier shots, and if you added a bit more story to the video it would be great. But aside from that, it made air which says a lot.

    • Really nifty pod! Nice idea for the holiday.

I liked that there was a decent amount of information to learn regarding rabbits as well.

      Solid work!

    • Hey Julie,
I totally dig the pod, I agree with Amanda that at first I thought the story had made quite a leap from folklore to pet store, but by the end I felt you tied it all together perfectly. The parallel stories of why Christianity choses a rabbit for it's celebration and why celebrating parents chose to buy their children rabbits around the Easter season, and how both in a way were just trying to please people.

The Church pleasing people who were shifting from paganism to Christianity and parents to please their children. You may not have come right out and said it but I thought you did a great job drawing showing that.

I also was interested by the problems of shelters receiving abandoned bunnies after Easter that was really emotional for a pet lover.

Keep up the good work Julie

    • Just saw this on TV, Julie! Great pod... the discussion always seems to revolve around the relationship between Santa Claus and Christmas, nice to see some explanation on the whole Easter Bunny/Easter thing.

Great footage of all those rabbits and your tracks were well-written and the tone was appropriate. Nice thought to go to a pet shop. Incorporating that aspect into this pod was unexpected, but I see how it can work. I just would have rather seen the professor talk a LOT more about the history of Easter and the symbolism of rabbits, Easter baskets and egg hunts, etc rather than whether or not bunnies make good pets.

    • Hi Amanda, yeah the oddly bifurcated nature of this pod IS unusual. It was a trick to get you thinking about Easter in general, the symbolism of rabbits in particular, and Easter bunnies in particular-particular. I think it worked. Thanks for the luv!

    • hey Julie, great job! good to see some SEP work up here!

I think you have some great interviews, fantastic shots, the pacing is good too.

I think my only suggestion would be that it kind of seemed like 2 separate pods to me -- the first part about the history and then all of a sudden the rest is entirely about people having rabbits as pets. I don't know if there was some way to intermix them more, or bring more history in at the end, but either one I think would've made it more cohesive.

      Good work!
