IF YOU DONT LIKE HORROR I COULD SEE WHERE THIS WOULD MAKE ONE ILL - BUT I LOVE HORROR AND I WOULD CHECK THIS OUT. IM A SICKO. :) I ALSO LOVE THE BLOOD STILL SHOTS- I FOUND THEM CREATIVE.

    • First of all my first port of call is being "sexy" ... funny but I find that alone doesn't give me life satisfaction, go figure.

Secondly you are completely right, this isn't pure "burlesque". If anything it's fetish, horror ... possibly "bastardised burlesque". The title "disembowled burlesque" gives that away a bit. I do traditional burlesque (whatever that really is ... ) to make my living as well. If you were watching this show live, presumably you haven't, it would begin with a slow, sensual 1940's inspired strip tease, the kind your professional friend most probably performs ... the kind we feel completely comfortable with. The point is to push that 'safe zone', to question where the boundary of decency lies ... to question the boundary of the flesh and at what point titillation becomes pornography and horror ... among other things.

    • Um...so where's the cool burlesque class? From what I've learned about burlesque (from a professional burlesque dancer) this is NOT burlesque. It's really gross, too. I don't see where the feminine sexiness comes in. Fetish and horror yes, burlesque--no. She might want to reevaluate what terms she uses to classify what she does.
