I would be interested in hearing him discuss his thought process while he was trapped in there for 41 hours. I can hardly stand being in an elevator for more than a minute. I can't even imagine 41 hours. I'd be interested in hearing more about his story - what was going through his head at the time.

wow, for one i cant beleive no one noticed that he was in that elevator for almost two days and that was pretty cruel of what the management did after the incident.

Biggest fear number one: getting hit by a car
fear number two: being trapped in an elevator!I wouldn't be able to go back to work either. I don't even want to think about it.

"yea there ya go, something inconveniences you (even though he was trapped for 41 hours, he wasn't hurt, just a large inconvenience), sue them! thats the answer to everything, SUE THEM. SUE SUE SUE SUE! then complain about the state our society is in and start pointing fingers!" ~ pirho
Being trapped in a 4x5x8 box for 41, losing your job because of the ordeal and being traumatized is not a "large inconvenience". Im sure you would call it more than an inconvenience if this happened to you, but of course "the state our society is in" is just mainly ignorance.

sure, but why start immediately pointing the finger?
It's not so much his case in particular, It's everyone as a whole, our lawyers on speed dial just waiting for the chance to sue someone.
Why couldn't he just see this as a bad experience and move on?
On top of everything we're all claiming how all we want in this world some days is peace and quiet, well he had it... he could've reflected on the myriad of things he ignores everyday with his beautiful time.

I could imagine this being a very trying emotional and psychological trauma, and then the company expects him to bounce right back as if nothing happened. Humans aren't machines they don't just bounce back after something like this happens.

yehhhh realfran said it, we sue for really stupid reasons in america. I might feel bad if he didn't both start blaming everyone for a mechanical error, (obviously the place didn't TRY to capture him) and also just ditch work forever.

But i have a question, did nobody miss him during that time??
i would call the police if someone from my family simply didn't get back home after work. - 4 years ago

Wow, He is pretty lucky there is video evidence of his ordeal. I would be suing them up and down. Modest settlement? Isn't this false imprisonment? 41 hours is incredible. Maybe he was unreasonable with the amount of time he took off from work but if I was his boss or HR department I would have given him atleast a week, paid leave.
