We need to stop rent control because need stop all that government regulashion because hurts industryies. John McCain is the only cannidate that will fufill our rapidly expanding economy. What we need is a good strong coneretive anti-libaral who holds true to the word of our lord. I really hope WHEN McCain becomes president he lives up to the republican platform and ends abortion, criminalizes gay sex and marrage and stops de-regulasion. We need to invade andor nuke iran and all these terriorists before its too late. This is exacly what the bible pridected would happen if the world fell away from his word. Armegeddon is close at hand we must stop them as a global force and unite christians and live as the word would tell us. and wage war against the non-beilevers and democarats and libarals.

John McCain is not going to stop anything thats currently happening just like Hillary and/or Obama will not stop the Iraq war. The simple reasons being that they can't.
Oh you hopefully do know Current was made by Al Gore. I always wondered why the views here were always so liberal, for the most part anyway. :)

Everything you just said was so ridiculous, it better be a joke or else I'm truly sorry for the state of your intelligence.

and
2. Learn to spell; buy one of those nifty books called "dictionaries".

if there was no rent control at all and land lords raised the rent to where people can not afford it. Then the land lords will have to lower the cost. Its really supply and demand. Anyways here in Stockton California some condos or apartments cost 600 bucks a month.
Personally I just see this as a form of getting government to step out of our lives and let us make our own choices.

Rent control has allowed me to live in the city that I grew up in that my entire family is in. I shouldn't be forced out of my town because I live in a city that everyone flocks to and wants to live in, driving up housing prices and locking me and my siblings out. And $1900 is a hell of a lot cheaper than $3000. It keeps the landlords from being greedy and screwing everyone. Right now rental prices would be through the roof because of the weak housing market and demand....thankfully the government is doing some regulation on greed.

Thanks for the old fashion fairness in reporting. It is something I cannot find on TV, nor cable, nor newspapers.
Politically, I do desire to see much more affordable housing.

economically diverse? $1900 a month for a one bedroom must apply to a wide variety of pockets, Im sure.
- travismathews good pod, specially for showing both sides from a renter point of view and perspective of a landlord.don't forget to vote June 3rd.

Rent control is a good thing. It keeps communities economically diverse. Without it, people who rely on having affordable rent in this city will have to move, extend their commutes to unreasonable distances, possibly lose their jobs and have their families broken up. Without it, landlords will have even more license to screw tenants in the state of California. Please, please turn out June 3 and vote NO on this garbage Prop 98.
