Life at the Track

Wow, this piece is really perfect for horse racing it captures it from the fun angle, the excitement, the interesting characters and the sadness. I think it's really hard to get all of those into any one video of anything and you did a great job of getting that in in 4 minutes. Really great pod.

Good stuff; you got to love old people that wager based on animal names and the inclusion of the word gold. I think that old lady won my NCAA basketball pool...again.

This reminds me of Suffolk Downs and the people I met there a few weeks ago. It was interesting to see people that knew that they had a problem and continued to gamble.

I've never been to the track but after watching this piece I feel like I have. Great job portraying the array of different personalities.

I laughed. I cried. This is the best short doc about the racetrack I have ever seen.

I was surprised by how self-conscious everyone was regarding their own compulsion and the reasoning behind it. The word compulsion typically implies a lack of thought and an emphasis on base action. This is a very interesting video, great work, i'd like to see more . . .

Nice portrait of hope vs futility in a spread of betting styles. A good example of how those that do win don't ask for too much, and conversely the bigger the dream the harder the fall. Nice Work!!!

i'd say the most interesting thing about this film is how it is both heartbreaking and hilarious, at the same time.

I wonder if people are more likely to win at the track if they wear a big hawaiian shirt....fodder for another documentary.
