    • Heh. we live on a private street, and have to pay to get our roads redone about once every 10 years. Last time we had to fight with one person to pay an extra $50 to put speed bumps in. They finally agreed to the speed bumps, and funny enough they are now paying to replace the struts on their cars after refusing to slow down for the 6 bumps before their house.

    • This is a true example of how sometimes rules and regulations meant to protect us end up hurting us in the long run. Its something to ponder. How can we change legislature to the point where it serves its purpose without getting in the way of whats meant for the better good.

    • Excellent pod. I agree with mexisurfer, this one begs to get a follow up. Beaurocracy can be stifling, but it's most frustrating when it fails to deliver on a specific need of a community.

When it comes to stuff like this, intent should outweigh everything else. Hopefully reason will prevail.

    • I love this story! Great way to stand up for your community! I live in Atlanta and there is nothing more frustrating than drivers who fail to obey the simple rules of crosswalks. I love your determination to stand your ground!

Please post an update to the story once the trial is over, I'd love to hear what happens next!

      Great pod.

    • He should win a citizen of the year award!
Who needs city hall when you have citizens who take personal responsibility to care for their neighborhood?
I'm sure he is protecting his neighbors (without recognition), at a lot cheaper a cost than getting 4-5 government workers to paint some stripes on the road.
