Visas Out of Gaza

journalist_pal
Most of the young generations In poor or stricken communities, always have the same dream (of immigration), they wish they could have a plane ticket to fly to a better future , and enjoy a life which they can not have in their homelands.

Since life in Gaza strip is harder because of the Israeli occupation and the internal crisis** Palestinian youth have started looking for another type of life -- they start seeking visas to travel overseas.

    • We people in Gaza can leave any time we want.
40,000 have left this year. We can go to Egypt, Jordan, Europe, wherever. Israel is more than happy to have us leave, and I have been more than happy to leave.

Very good. Thank you for this. Do you know about the case of Mohammed Omer? I posted it earlier today. Follow my link to go to it.

While I like the personal vinette approach to your story, I think it would be stronger if you would add factual information - showing how the number of crossings have been reduced over time, as well as the number of visas....

Would love to see an update/follow up.

    • Thank you for the great pod! Very interesting topic and I enjoyed the perspective from the citizens hoping to emigrate. Hopefully the situation will become resolved soon and those people will be afforded better opportunities.

    • Hi, I am half-israeli and have a lot of connection to the state, but this realist perspective on the situation in Gaza was very meaningful in that it did not portray any extremists fixated on vengeance but showed normal people trying to make something of their future. Very humanizing, your forget that the whole political and geographical dillema has actual people just like us that are affected by the harsh circumstances.

      thanks for the perspective
