wow
what fun footage
i wish there was like a marathon burningman video so that i can imagine we are actually still there only we don't have to stress our bodies while we imagine and how do i deal with the dust
find the nearest adventure and follow it through the storm together with whatever perfectly kindred stranger
i meet within arms length since that's as far as i can see
and when it whips really hard i run out into the middle of who knows where because you can't see where you are and i dance my ass of to whoever's music that is crankin from who knows what direction really?but seriously
where els in the world will you find people out in the streets celebrating in what's considered a natural disaster
that's community
and it's beautiful !learning to walk in many worlds at once is a burden and a priceless treasure

Being in an environment that is as unexpected as the whole experience is why Burning Man is so wonderful. Day in and Day out we are all sheep....going to work, eating, sleeping and begin again. Throw a bar b que in the mix here and there or a trip to see an old friend. Great.
What you get from being out in the desert is a feeling of wonderment. The feeling you had when you were a child and you could not wait to get out of bed in the morning because everything was so new, or fighting to go to bed at night because you did not want to miss something....when was the last time you felt that way?
Especially as an adult. It gets harder and harder because we are conditioned to repress sooo much.

240 hours of the "hardest good time you will ever have."
Virgin burn 2007 one word summary: Commitment
Why would anyone spend tens of thousands of dollars creating art, then finding away to get it into the middle of the desert, for a week or less, to be seen by a few thousand people, only to tear it all down, maybe burn it, or pack it ALL back up, and haul it back into the Default world? Because it is worth it.
Commitment.
Financial. It is not cheap. (Or inexpensive!)
Physical. It is not easy.
Emotional. The right attitude is a must.
Spiritual. The playa, and its citizens, reach in and
change your soul. Forever. Why would anyone go to Burningman?
because it is worth it. - 3 years ago

If you've never been to burning man there is no way to explain why someone would want to be there in the dust. The crazy weather is part of the whole experience. The coolest place on the planet for one week every year.

it is a little silly that people would pay money to be in the dust.... but once u have experienced it, there is no other thing like it, the crazy awesome people u happen to run into during the white out, its really just awesome!!! u think of shelter in a whole new way when ur out there. i think people shouldn't bash something they no little about.

WoW This is cool. to be some where "new" and tested by dust as to the person you are. Burning Man is a good test with or with out the dust.

bartee, you are the type of person who never needs to bring your negative energy to Burning Man. Just stay at home and find things to complain about there. You obviously have plenty of time on your hands from not wasting it doing things that you would hate anyway.
