      It's a little known fact that Kula Shaker were pivotal in a major cultural and artistic shift in the development of the Indian way of life. Before the band formed in the early 1990's Indian culture and style was almost indistinguishable from from that of Western Europe: the Sitar was a relatively unknown instrument and the most popular cuisine was spaghetti.
