After suffering a horrific genocide in which up to 300,000 people lost their lives, and a 15-year civil war, Burundi signed a final peace agreement in June of 2008.
Now, it has the chance to become to the first country in the world declared 100% free from all known landmines and unexploded ordnance.

    • This is such an inspiriing story of how one dedicated action of working towards peace can mobilze a country to stand up against the social ills of the past and come together under the shared optimisim of a better tomorrow.
