A decade since the British Boxing Board of Control ruled that women could fight, Sheffield's own 'million dollar baby' 15 year-old Bernelle Mitchell, is fast becoming the country's best female amateur boxer. However, as she approaches her biggest fight yet, Bernelle's future may lie under the bright lights of the catwalk rather than the boxing ring.

    • Bernelle is certainly confronting a society filled with stereotypes. Did you know, in August last year the Olympics board announced the inclusion of women’s boxing for the games in the 2012 Olympics – contrary to the expectations of many. Hopefully with the up and coming Olympic games, women’s boxing may be given the popularity and exposure it deserves.
