Man Eat Dog World

In some countries there are firm social taboos against eating the same animals that are commonly kept as pets, such as cats and dogs. But in dozens of other countries around the world, if you can catch it, you can eat it. Chris Tran goes for lunch in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and learns that eating fried dog, green dragon and cobra heart supposedly do wonders for a man's virility. Taste is another matter entirely.

    • People from the Orient and adventurous Westerners whom I have known have told me that dog is delicious. One buddy of mine who lived over there for some time told that they would cook it at the table in a pot of bubbling oil like fondue. Then, they would dunk it in dipping sauces and pop the little cooked morsels of Rover into their mouths. Anyone hungry now?

    • other countrys don't do nearly as much farming of animals as america. If they had pounds and pouds of cow do you think they would be eating dog? they eat what is avaliable

    • I would hate to see the dog farms to supply all of this dog meat. Looked like they had some different varieties too.

    • While I dislike the fact that dogs and cats are being eaten, I don't like that any mammal is eaten. So, I try very hard to eat flesh only when I am willing to kill, clean, and prepare it myself.

      I will say that it looks to be an improvement on the Philippino custom of beating the dog to death to 'tenderize' it, which I got to see while living in Little Manila in Los Angeles.

      I would like to know where the hell the Chihuahua came from!

    • It is their country and their culture, so they can eat dog or cat or whatever they want over there. However, in Western culture we don't eat dogs and cats, so it shouldn't be tolerated here.

    • How humans justify the murder of other sentient beings to "enhance" (most likely psychologically) our sexual short comings is totally beyond me.

      Not hating on the Vietnamese culture (Loved it there), this is a world wide thing.
