2012 End Of The World?

swany
According to many serious and downright sensible people, the world is facing a huge crisis. In 4 years it's all going to go belly up. The mystical Mayans foretold that there would be no need for anymore dates after the 21st of December 2012 due to the fact that we would all be puffs of smoke, enjoying ourselves in the astral. So, we have roughly 1,500 days left to make the most of things, paint a master piece, tie up loose ends, get married maybe...or even divorced. Basically, all the things you wished you'd have done if we explode in a religious-mumbo-jumbo-techno-fireball. So who's spreading these rumours and how serious should we heed these prophecies? If it's all true, what would you do? Lets meet a few of the people who'll be spared, scared, prepared or just ......nuts? Presented my myself (child of synchronicity and lover of life) and we will discover, in 8 critically informative and fun packed minutes what's about to happen and if it does, what to do...

    • I'm happy to see the TRUTH see the quasi-mainstream...

It is all about LOVE, and rejecting fear. All of lifes answers reside inside your inner space, all you have to do is REMEMBER.

We are all connected, and so are all of our issues that arise each day. Start connecting the dots! Know in your heart that death doesn't exist, Only different forms of life.

Time (or the perception of it, rather) is to come to an end, our galaxy ascends into the 5th dimension.

Terence McKenna - "Time Wave Zero"
Dr. Rick Strassman - "DMT: The Spirit Molecule"

Meditate more, explore psychedelics, treasure the things that live.

This is just the beginning. Know this. Feel this.

    • Oh I see, "according to a growing number of people in the world!" That is really convincing and surely qualifies as a solid indicator of it being true.. what tremendous reasoning!

Crying doomsday has always been a popular sport. It does not take extra sensitive pineal glands or new age outfits to see that the world we live in is unsustainable, and unless fundamentally reshaped will implode on itself.

The Mayans had a great calendar, their science in this regard was way beyond any other culture at that point, and it will be interesting to see what kind of idea, religion or culture people are going to turn to in 2013, to get their doomsday fix when 2012 fizzles out, leaving only the "usual" 21st century changes and destruction in its wake. After all it is our psychological duty to reverse engineer an idea of a new and improved apocalypse that lies within a reasonable timeframe.

For me this is more of an oppressive idea than it is an idea of spiritual liberation. It need not take a coming apocalypse/end of history/what ever to motivate people to start exploring spirituality and work with themselves. These are things any intelligent individual will pursue no matter what the calendar says!

Can´t we just be a little open to the future? A change in consciousness at 2012 would be nice (if its a positive change), but doesn´t that mean a lot of people will think that they are just going to get there automatically and not really have to work to change themselves until then? I think ideas like this causes widespread complacency, which is disastrous in a time when we need action in abundance.

      Matthew 24:36

But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

In other words, only God knows, and God is not leaving any clues.

This date is closer to one I have been told about. Go ahead and lol because May 11, 2011 was heard by me on the Family Radio program nite after nite via a call in question and answer series. I don't think this is as far fetched as most of the other responses. At least you were a close enough confirmation for me!

    • Its really intresting. One of the top leaders in America of the prayer movment in "Christianity" has been speaking about a transitition from now until 2012. A change probably in the Spirit Realm. Whether all guys are right or not when you have you know so much buzz about the year, you kinda think something will take place either in the kingdom of light or darkness. Because no matter what source the person taps into for revelation 2012 gets throwing into the mix. Just like this vid, believe it or not but the end of the age for Jews and Christians is not terrible either. The Age ends but the earth remains.

    • 2012- i dont think it's going to as apocalyptic as some say... but I do believe there is going to be some serious galactic activity. I like the idea of the hallucinations, very 'sci fi'ey. And somewhat plausible. In any case the only way to prepare for something like 2012 is with tons of food rations, a rusty cleaver, 'Nuts' magazine, and a boarded-up house

    • Let me tell you one time: There is a book, "Nothing In This Book Is True But It's Exactly How Things Are," by Bob Frissell Published in 1994. Hmm.... Shoot I might look in to that to step my game up, 2012, yeah that's what's up. And we all shal, in one way or another ascend to the 4th dimension "Heaven" Zion" "Nirvana" on either the 10th , 11th, or 12th overtone of the $th dimension. So when I grow up, I want to Fly in paradise ya digg!?

The Mayan calendar ends in 2012, and goes back to 0.,, just like the computers in 2000. Looks like history really does repeat itself... even if nothing happens.

    • YES! Thank you! I just finished reading The Mysteries of 2012 yesterday. I was blown away when I saw this video pod. The book in my option isn't claiming that the end of the world is coming. It simple suggest that a huge shift in human consciousness is coming. The way we view time, space, reality and our psychical bodies will momentarily be altered, which will change the way we perceive this reality. We can already see these shifts happening. The earths magnetism has been decreasing for the last 126 years or so. So chill out a bit and settle in for some ground breaking realizations.

Glad you liked the film, there was so much more that Geoff talked about that I had to leave out due to the slot length, its amazing really. The best thing is that we will all know in 4 years, so the way I see it is...make the best of now and even if nothing happens you'll have had a cool few years

    • The Mayan's never said that the world was going to "end" as far as doomsday goes, that was open for interpretation between the various groups. Most believe, however, that in 2012 what the Mayan's predicted is actually a shift in the world's consciousness...which is definitely not a bad thing.

    • i wish people would watch the video before commenting. it does not say the world is going to END at all, it says the way of life as we know it will. which in my opinion is probably a good thing. maybe its time for a change. i am looking forward to 2012 with optimism.

I agree I think its something to be positive about, thats the feeling I got from all the people I met. I do understand when people say..ah, same old doomeday rubbish, but I do think theres something happening, even if its just a shft in conciousness rather then a volcanic apocalypse.

    • It is something we'll all know for sure by 2013, but as I mentioned in an interview if we all just make time to be a bit nicer to each other and take a broader interest outside money, cars, and all that jazz, it wont be a bad thing. The worldwide DMT trip would be a more frightening thing, imagine all your worst neighbours having a bad trip and going crazy in your garden. I think everyone has a slightly different view on the future, so its quite subjective. All we can do is wait and see, and personally Im looking forward to the next few years. Cool.

    • a universal graduation to ecstasy due to a shift in magnetic poles inciting widespread DMT synthesis in the pinneal is very unlikely, he probably did trip too much.

But I agree, the world does seem to be on the precipice of a massive shift. Society is constantly changing and reinventing itself, and has been since the beginning of human history; I believe that the rate at which this change occurs is increasing. We are now blasting into the future faster than we ever were before we arrived at the present. How long can we keep this up until we reach some kind of limit? Is there an asymptote on the graph of human progression? Is it in 2012?

    • This is a topic laden with all sorts of speculation, mixing of disparate traditions, and unfortunately, paranoia.

It's very easy to get lost in the haze without a bit of general background reading.

For a good introduction, I recommend Terence McKenna's "Archaic Revival" or John Major Jenkin's "Maya Cosmogenesis 2012."

There are also some quality primers out there, which are easily found on Amazon, or in the local bookstore.

This isn't "just a bunch of bunk," but it's also not a cut and dry "end times prophecy." Even from scientific and political angles -- notice when President-elect Obama's first term ends -- our world certainly seems to be on the precipice of a massive shift that could go in many different directions.

Climate change, the threat of nuclear war, terrorism, financial meltdown, et. al. strike a chord with anyone?

It would be interesting to hear some more thoughts on this, to get a feel for which way the wind is blowing on this one, as far as the Current crowd is concerned.

agreed. I really don't believe the world is "going to end", I just think its flattering for most people to think they will be the last on earth. But change is definitely coming, and your right, there are countless snowballs rolling down the hill, I'm just worried that things are about to get really really bad in the near future.

Speaking as a Pagan, I`m personally very excited about the winter solstice of 2012.
I`ve noticed among the people I know, and that is a drop in the ocean, and in other people particularly the next generation, a questioning of societies rules and how we are told to live.
I sense a gradual turning away from the `though shalt not sin` and money is everything way of thinking and a shift towards simply celebrating life.
Obviously not popular with our goverment but they can`t stop everyone!
