This was very well done! The beginning of the pod was beautifully done. I don't think that God heals these people through these certain ministers in this church, but I do think that positive thinking and hope is important to healing. If this is how these people choose to find that, then I'm all for it. I'm not going to be standing in the healing line though.

'Can God Heal Me?' is an interesting piece, especially since it was filmed from the perspective of an athiest.
We might want to consider that it is simply our own beliefs and our perspective that is the healing power...

props on this pod. i think there are far too few pods dealing with spirituality on current. in fact, i was hoping you might check out, vote and comment on my most recent upload, Minister of Death, a pod about a minister who drives a hearse and talks life with people.

Now, also, these people who misinterpret God's Word, also misinterpret the word FAITH, they believe that FAITH is "BELIEVE THAT GOD CAN DO IT, AND HE WILL DO IT, THAT'S FAITH!!".. but that is not faith on God, that is faith in FAITH. (hence the term "FAITH HEALING")
Faith in the Greek, as well as in Hebrew means not just "believe" but "FAITHFULNESS"
The Greek Word is PISTIS (used in the New Testament),
That means:
persuasion, that is, credence; moral conviction (of religious truth, or the truthfulness of God or a religious teacher), especially reliance upon Christ for salvation; abstractly constancy in such profession; by extension the system of religious (Gospel) truth itself: - assurance, belief, believe, faith, fidelity. (from Strong's Greek Dictionary)the Hebrew Word is "EMUNAH"
That means:literally firmness; figuratively security; moral fidelity: - faith (-ful, -ly, -ness, [man]), set office, stability, steady, truly, truth, verily. (from Strong's dictionary)
And Pistis is the Word used in the Septuagint (The Greek translation of the Old Testament that was use when the NT Testament was written) for EMUNAH.
So when the Bible says "the just shall live by FAITH" (Habakkuk 2:4) it also means "the just shall live by FAITHFULNESS"
If someone is being unfaithful to God, that person DOES NOT HAVE FAITH
So, if you HAVE FAITH, YOU HAVE FAITHFULNESS
So who is God going to heal??... I believe He is the only one that knows that.
There is a passage in the Gospel of John, chap. 5:
---------------
1After these things there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.2Now there is in Jerusalem by the sheep gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew Bethesda, having five porticoes.
3In these LAY A MULTITUDE of those who were SICK, blind, lame, and withered, waiting for the moving of the waters;
4for an angel of the Lord went down at certain seasons into the pool and stirred up the water; whoever then first, after the stirring up of the water, stepped in was made well from whatever disease with which he was afflicted.]
5A man was there who had been ill for thirty-eight years.
6When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he had already been a long time in that condition, He said to him, "Do you wish to get well?"
7The sick man answered Him, "Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, but while I am coming, another steps down before me."
8Jesus said to him, "Get up, pick up your pallet and walk."
9Immediately the man became well, and picked up his pallet and began to walk.
---------------------------
Notice there were A MULTITUDE, and Jesus only healed ONE!...And Jesus only did what He saw the Father doing:
Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner. (John 5:19)
So, whoever the Father chooses to heal, HE will HEAL...

I totally agree with you about how having faith in God is being faithful to God. I know that when we have faith in Gods word and stay faithful to him he also uses our pain for his glory. to one person being born with no limbs, blind, deaf, mute, etc. sounds like a curse. But no ones born cursed (except the notion of we being born into sin).
God does not look at our suffering and say "O' no! Ooops i didnt mean that to happen" or "i didnt see that coming!" God knows what we will face and what distructive influences that will come against us. Thats where your definition of faith comes in. It takes faith (faithfulness) to trust God and his plan in our lives to look past who we are in the natural and become the christian God called us to be. True God can heal a maimed body, yet at the same time he can use our present situation as a valuabl tool to share the gospel. Whither we like it or not, everyone has imperfections, sickness, or hurts because satan is lord of this earth; yet we are not forgotten. So when we allow Gods power and love in our lives, his message can be done through the situations we go through. Thats what testimonies are all about. If there was one person I would proudly say is a great inspiration to me I would say is Nick Vujicic because he is a world known minister who does not allow his physical state to hinder what God has called him to do. Even though he was born with no limbs. - 3 years ago

Hello everyone, God bless you
I used to be a scientifically minded skeptical atheist 5 years ago, now by the Grace of God, I am a born again Christian. And I gotta tell you, that unfortunately, there are a lot of "doctrines" that are not based in the Bible, but based on verses in the Bible taken out of context.
Can God heal?..
God does HEAL...but what's what God heals???...
Without Christ, ALL OF US ARE DISABLED AND ILL PERSONS... yeap.. we are SPIRITUALLY DISABLED, we are BLIND, we are DEAF, we CAN'T WALK (ALL OF THESE SPIRITUALLY)...
The Bible says "...By His stripes we ARE HEALED" (Is. 53:4-5)..
Let's check, according to the Bible, how we are healed:
1Pe 2:21 For hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that ye should follow his steps:
1Pe 2:22 who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
1Pe 2:23 who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:
1Pe 2:24 who his own self bare our sins in his body upon the tree, that we, having died unto sins, might live unto righteousness; by whose stripes ye were healed. (1 PETER 2:21-24)So, Christ DOES HEAL US, but SPIRITUALLY, from the ILLNESS OF OUR SIN...
Now, don't get me wrong, GOD ALSO HEALS PHYSICALLY, but ACCORDING TO HIS WILL. If it is HIS WILL that somebody MUST BE HEALED, HE WILL HEAL HIM (I once witnessed this guy who one time I saw on a wheel chair, doctors told him he would never walk again, some months later, he came to church, went to the pulpit WALKING LIKE NOTHING HAD HAPPENED TO HIM, and gave his testimony, THAT WAS AMAZING!).. but is only IF IT IS GOD'S WILL!!...
I also know this elder Pastor who is blind, he's been a Christian for like more than 40 years.. but the Lord didn't healed his blindness..
A lot of people believe that "GOD DOES NOT WANT YOU TO SUFFER, GOD DOES NOT WANT YOU ILL, YOU'RE A KING'S KID"... if GOD DOES NOT WANT ANYBODY TO SUFFER, then why did the Apostles suffer. Paul had a "thorn in his flesh", he prayed to God to remove it, but what did GOD told him "My grace is sufficient for thee: for my power is made perfect in weakness" (2 Cor. 7-9).
Timothy constantly suffered from illnesses (1 Tim 5:23)
And also these people also think that if you are not healed "YOU DON'T HAVE FAITH"... if that is right, did Paul lacked FAITH?? did Timothy lacked FAITH??
If it is God's will and mercy, He will heal:
Php 2:25 But I counted it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother and fellow-worker and fellow-soldier, and your messenger and minister to my need;
Php 2:26 since he longed after you all, and was sore troubled, because ye had heard that he was sick:
Php 2:27 for indeed he was sick nigh unto death: but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, that I might not have sorrow upon sorrow. (Phillipians 2:25-27) - 3 years ago

Filming this was pretty unusual for me. After getting to know the people of the Emmanuel Church I realised a few things. Firstly, they were some of the friendliest and most hospitable people I have ever met. Secondly, Apostle Naomi had a very strong presence and made the author Aidan, a strong-minded Atheist, question what just happened to him. Finally- if the people in the film did not have God to help them, there would be noone else there for them. I'd rather not be alone with my problems.

I myself have not 'fallen' but 'dove from grace' being once a christian and believer in God. I admire the commitment some people have to their beliefs, and am glad the Christian faith has given these people hope but, I think it's all a load of crap. I think SOME people are too lazy to actively fix their lives and so they wait for God to do it for them. I also think targeting the weak, seemingly hopeless as converts for religion is wrong.
For centuries people have used this type of loud, energetic, overwhelming of the senses as a technique for meditation. Proven to decrease stress.
That's all I see here...people meditating, and giving God all the credit for their clearer state of mind. - 3 years ago
