Christian Goths

Instituteforeyes
In the heart of the picturesque university town of Cambridge lies St Edward Church, a Christian center which encourages 'spiritual seekers' from a diverse range of backgrounds. Every fortnight it holds a very special service, the event named 'Goth Eucharist', welcomes a group of local young Goths congregate at the church, to celebrate their faith and promote the Goth community. During a 45 minute service, the church is illuminated solely by the light of candles, in the atmospheric setting the service combines traditional scripture and prayer with a mixture of rock and classical music. The service is conducted jointly by the Chaplain, Fraser Watts, who describes the ceremony: 'revolving around the baptismal candle and reflecting a serious engagement with the depressing and darker sides of our lives before moving towards a position of hope and happiness found in the empathy of the Lord Jesus Christ.'

    • A great bunch of people and m best friend is the chap tht does the music :))
If you're interested in this type of thing - I help run the Goth Eucharist at Greenbelt festival and also planning to hold them in Birmingham Cathedral.

I also do some online work (see the link)

Our greenbelt version will be a little different from the Cambridge one and will feature a female choir nChant, a rock band and classical instruments. The music style is influenced by the likes of Nightwish, Epica and Fountains of Tears.
