    • you know why he's on letterman? cuz no one watches his dumbass primetime speeches, everyone opts for the seinfeld reruns. he has to sneak on letterman to spout his agenda.

I think part of being president, especially now in the 21st century, is about not being in the office (Have you seen the technology people have now'adays? I bet the president never looses service) it's about talking to your citizens all over the country, to show them that you know whats going on with the country and you are doing your job, and arn't just just dicking around. I mean, seriously, Letterman is filmed in New York, which, I don't know if you realized this but, its pretty important city. I'm sure the president could find something do in with his time in the city after the taping, but hell, he's the president, whats a 4-5(?) hour car ride? a 45 minute flight on whatever he's flying in. It's not that big a deal, again, its the 21st century, I'm sure his jet pack (presidents use them now, right?) has wi-fi. The trip is not gonna take that long. Hell, we paid for all his private jets and helicopters already (maybe) so somebody ought to use them.

Not to mention all the people who work all day, get home, they dont want to watch the news talking shit on the economy, so they watch dave. The president is just reaching out to them. It's good for his image and appeal to "regular folks". Politics. It's a lot like marketing a brand, or a religion, ..or a cult.

...dont take that im comparing obama to a cult leader, I'm not. Im literally just saying politics in general, is similar to all those thing.

...basically all i'm saying is, He's the president, we're in the 21st century, he's got a blackberry, dosnt he? That's all he really needs. How much office work do you think he could possibly get done? he's not physically writing out every bill, writing speeches, and doing all the paper work, he's got people for all that. but seriously? what work could he possibily do, that requires him to be in his office? (and dont give meeting with people, he could meet with people anywhere, there are alot of important places in washington DC, i've been there) I really can't think of a single thing. honestly, im not thinking to hard, so there may be things he needs his offices for, im not really an expert on presidents or anything.
