America, even the word (name) gets me riled up! What has America got to do with what and how they cultivate poppies for? How can they ban stuff in a country that obviously knows more and understands that the opium poppy is not just for medicine! *GRRRR* Damn America to hell!

Hi Dogan, thanks for your comment. I've been in Beijing three weeks now! I didn't get round to making those DVD's of the Turkish version but I will soon I promise! I hope you are well and your move was successful.

zras:
from codeine all the way up-to diamorphine. Though there are many synthetic opiates hundreds of times stronger than heroine now.

Very insightful!
The American Drug War has been a tragedy not only in America but globally because of the pressure it lays upon countries like Turkey. What right does America have to intervene in another countries doings, its a travesty. - 2 years ago

FishaHouse777:
Little history lesson?
When we were isolationist and did not interfere with other countries. What happened exactly?
Let's see. The rise of Nazis, death camps, mass civilian deaths, World War I, World War II.Not all of our interventions have had good results. Some liberal American idiot woman had to go around telling 3rd world countries not to use DDT and that caused a billion people death from Malaria. That was wrong.
The problem is, everything is clear in hindsight. The only thing Americans can try to do it view every possible angle and analyze situations carefully. I admit, sometimes we don't want play the neighborhood cop, and I think other nations could do more to contribute to the United Nations for protecting & helping theirs.
Because we have helped so many nations and so many countries and so many peoples, we do what we do because many times we are a force of good. Our interventions, medicines, doctors, policies save lives and improve the standards of living for millions of people who have almost nothing.
Did you know that before Americans came to Afghanistan, Afganies stood up to go potty? They had no concept or understanding of toilets and had to be potty trained by US Soldiers.
15 years ago in India, children were working 12 hour shifts in factories for 50 cents a day to earn just enough money to help support their families. (Scholastic 1992) These children were dying in these factories, losing arms and legs and just a hand or two if they were lucky. For an Indian to own a car was a dream reserved only for their most important diplomats. Now we are losing all of our jobs to India in customer support field, they are better for it, they have water and computers and a chance to be better. We have never asked for anything from anybody we have always done it for free as a benevolent society.
It has been America's vision to help the world one country at a time out of poverty and desperation and to have each country so raised are meant to help another country and region that is struggling and in trouble. This has not happened. India does not go around helping other countries, nor does any other country America has aided in the past 20 years. Why the hell not?
