Justice & humanity is not the forte of governments of late, perhaps it never has been. The Chagos islanders betrayed, horses taking preference over the misfortunate islander onboard ship as they were conveyed to a promised land!.
Other miscarriages of justice have left the receipients with wrecked minds, broken relationships, ruined lives, all of which are presumed healed with the aid of a financial pill. - 1 year ago

Well it's either the prison or getting their bellies slit open and turfed off the plane into the sea is it not!!! That's what I learned when I did my Degree in Criminology. Sometimes I feel ashamed to be on this bl**dy sadistic planet. Offering these people sympathy is not enough. But they will get nothing and it is not in the interests of the Americans to shut the place as they need to demonstrate their "control" in the name of the "war on terror"! But who are the real terrrorists? What could ever compensate for what these people have suffered, money??

Horrific treatment by anyones standards. Britain and America should hang their heads in shame. Good luck to the men who are now back with their loved ones.
Can money really compensate this kind of torture? - 1 year ago

Good luck to them. Maybe the compensation payment will in some way readress the damage done to them.

Really happy to see that Omar, Binyam and Martin are about to receive a payout from the government, it's the least they deserve. What about the rest of the men who've been held and tortured in Guantanamo and the other black site prisons.
